Mrs. Mahler
email: mahlerl@limacatholic.org Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! I am very excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher this year. Because I will be spending a great deal of time with your child, I would like to tell you a few things about myself --both personally and professionally.
I grew up in Bethel, a small town east of Cincinnati. I still travel to Cincinnati often to spend time with family and friends. I attended the University of Cincinnati and received my Associates and Bachelors degree in education. I began teaching in Columbus, MS where I taught two years in Fourth grade and Fifth grade.
I have been married to my husband Joel for 20 years and have two boys, Miles and Connor. Miles will be a Senior and Connor will be a Sophmore at LCC. I am proud to have both my kids graduate from St. Charles.
I have had a ten wonderful years teaching kindergarten at St. Charles and I look forward to another fantastic year. Over the summer, I created some FUN Learning Workshops (WILD AND WACKY SCIENCE - MAD SCIENTIST! AND BOOK CLUBS!) and tutored students in Reading/Language Arts as well as created some new learning themes for my students!
Also, over the summer, my family went on an out west adventure! Wow ! America is truly beautiful! My family and I saw the great monuments of Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse, Old Faithful and Yellowstone Park, Grand Teton Mts., Grand Canyon, the Painted Desert, Hoover Dam as well as the alien capital of the World . . . . Roswell, New Mexico! We had the BEST Bar-B- Que Ribs in Texas and saw the Arch in St. Louis! A great road trip of 6,500 miles and many SMILES!
As far as your child's education - You are the most important person in your child's life, and we will be working together for your his/her benefit. I need your support for the homework assignments, academic goals, and the classroom management plan that we have for our classroom. With school and home working together, your child will have an memorable year in kindergarten.
I look forward to working with you this year.
Sincerely,
Lisa Mahler
