·         St. Charles students are expected to be respectful in their behavior, language and attitude toward each other, toward their teachers, school staff and toward school property.

·         St. Charles students are expected to cooperate with their teachers and classmates, exhibit behavior which allows teachers to teach and every student to learn.

·         St. Charles students are expected to be prepared for class by having learning materials needed and all assignments completed.

·         St. Charles students are expected to exhibit proper behavior when riding on the bus, when on field trips, when in church, at all school activities and on all occasions when representing the school.

 

1.     Any violation of the above is unacceptable behavior, for which the student may be issued a consequence.

2.     Incident reports may be issued for numerous reasons. Parents are expected to sign and return the incident report.  All incident reports must be returned the next school day.

2.   After three behavioral detentions, a parent conference may be requested.

3.   If a student then acquires a fourth behavioral detention, he/she will be required to attend Saturday school.

4.   Any additional behavioral detentions may result in a suspension or other disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the administration.

5.   If a student is sent to the office for conduct, the student will receive a detention or other consequences at the discretion of the administration.

6.   If a student receives three behavioral referrals, a detention will be issued.

7.     If a student receives four uniform demerits, a detention will be issued.

8.     If a student receives a bus conduct referral, a detention will be issued.

 

Detention – Detentions may be issued for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, behavioral reasons, harassment, poor bus conduct, tardiness, failure to adhere to a staff member’s request or guidelines. Detentions are served from 3 to 4 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Students must attend on the date assigned. Failure to do so will result in an additional detention being issued.  Students may not be excused for extra-curricular or other activities.

 

Saturday School - Saturday school is served from 8 to 11 a.m. according to a pre-arranged schedule of Saturdays. Extra-curricular activities are not cause for absence. Students must attend on the date assigned. Failure to do so will result in an additional Saturday School being issued. Students will be in uniform and have appropriate schoolwork. A fee of $15.00 will be assessed.

 

Suspensions - Suspensions may be in or out of school. Suspensions are recorded as unexcused absences.  Missed classroom work must be made up in a timely fashion for full credit.
